Iluka Nature Reserve
This treasure within the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area – home to a superb range of bird life – is a small but very valuable remnant of what was once an extensive coastal rainforest. Strolling the level (wheelchair-accessible) 2.5 km walk from Iluka Bluff to Iluka is the best way to see the park’s tall canopy of riberry and lilly pilly trees, intertwined with strangler figs.

Woody Head – Bundjalung National Park
Woody Head is a campground with the lot – you can pitch your tent, park your caravan or book a cabin to enjoy a pleasure-packed beach escape for the weekend or longer. It’s a great place for a family holiday, with a protected sandy beach that’s ideal for swimming and fishing, a boat ramp and the spectacular rock platform. There are heaps of other things to do as well and children and adults alike will love exploring the rainforest and shallow reefs around the campground. It’s a great places for fishing and waterbabies will love being so close to the beach.
There is one designated group camping area and the campground is wheelchair accessible. Of course, with the amount of attractions on offer, it’s no wonder Woody Head is a popular north coast campground. You’ll need to book with plenty of time to secure your campsite.

This award winning museum offers the visitor a journey of discovery of Yamba’s township and its subsequent strong maritime history. Engaging exhibitions focus on Yamba’s association with the mighty Clarence River and its people. There is off-street parking available, it is user friendly and accessible with toilet facilities available. There are guided tours including home cooked morning or afternoon teas and group charges on request. Opening hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 10am to 4.30pm; Saturday and Sunday 2pm to 4.30pm (or by appointment). Admission: Adults $3 and children are free.
