Early risers are always rewarded with stunning vistas on land and sea and this morning was no exception as we made our way from our Halifax Holiday Park cabin to Little Beach, Port Stephens. The park backs onto the beach so it is only a very short stroll. Quiet, clean, crisp and beautiful Shoal Bay opened before us. Eager fishermen quietly inched their motor boats into the water. Eager as they were to take off into what has become a 27 degree sun soaked day, they went patiently, quietly not disturbing local residents and Halifax holidaymakers.
A lone fisherman perched at the end of the peer. Curious seagulls and pelicans waited patiently for a feed and I wandered, feet in the lapping waves. This is a great beach for young families.
Halifax Point, just around the corner is a renowned diving spot and is now accessible by a narrow sandy beach.
No wonder this holiday park is so popular and you need to book well in advance. Two stunning beaches on the doorstep, tea rooms and great restaurants close by and only a short drive or steady walk into town for some great shopping. We will be back.
