Hello from the beautiful Great Lakes, where the water surrounds you, the people stop and say hello and the food and fun is never ending! To give you a taste of why this place is so special, we’ll be asking the local’s themselves for the tips and tricks for enjoying all the area has to offer.
Straight From The Local’s Mouth!
Meet… Matt Coombe
Most days you can find me… Cruising the beautiful waters of Forster and Tuncurry and all around the Great Lakes as I’m lucky enough to skipper the whale and dolphin watching boat for Amaroo Cruises. It’s a family business and one we are very proud of!
The best part about living in the Great Lakes is… It’s gotta be the beaches, the lake system and the lack of traffic compared to city areas. I mean, you can travel half an hour down the coast to Seal Rocks and you could be the only one on the beach. It’s paradise really.
When I’m keen for a cuppa, I head to… A lovely little shop down the main street of Forster called All Things Yum, which is a great place for a coffee and other nice things to eat. I don’t mind a Gloria Jeans coffee in the main street too!
For a delicious feed, every time, I visit… Bella Bellissimo! You really can’t go past it! The locals know what I mean! It’s just across the road from the pick up point of the Amaroo on the lake in Forster and they do delicious pizzas and pastas.
To reminder myself that the Great Lakes is a little slice of heaven I… drive across the bridge between Forster and Tuncurry on a crystal clear day. The water is just magic and you know you’re home.
