Beachside Radiology Coffs Ocean Swims
The Beachside Radiology Coffs Ocean Swims are a fun, charity fundraising event offering participants a choice of distances catering for both the novice and the more competitive with a 600 metre swim around the iconic jetty structure, 2,000 metre swim across the harbour and fun races for children, all held inside the beautiful, protected harbour. Coffs Harbour is the ideal location for an ocean swim, being one of the only open water swims to be held inside a protected harbour. The iconic 300 metre long jetty also provides the perfect birds-eye viewing platform for spectators. Events include a 600 metre Jetty Swim (ages 10 plus); 2,000 metre Harbour Swim (ages 12 plus); 150 metre swim for eight to 10 year olds; and a 300 metre swim for 11 to 14 year olds. The Macksville Music Muster is a new addition to the national country music muster circuit, a well-established series of events that targets people who have a strong interest and love of country music. It is well placed to fit into this country music muster circuit considering the date and location. Japanese Festival of Children's Day
Celebrated on the first Sunday in May, Coffs Harbour hosts the annual Japanese Festival of Children's Day in the Japanese Gardens within the North Coast Regional Botanic Garden. With more than 100 Koinobori (Koi Kites) flying in the sunshine over the arched bridge and teahouse, there is food, entertainment and cultural celebrations throughout the day. The Koi Society in partnership with the Bonsai Society, Friends of the North Coast Botanic Gardens and Coffs Harbour City Council will be hosting this year's event starting at 10am with the official opening at 11am by Mayor Councillor Denise Knight RN and a welcome by the Japanese Consul to Australia. There will be Kensei Karate demonstrations, Taiko Drumming, Watermelon smashing, Koi fish judging, music, face-painting, calligraphy available throughout the day. RSPCA NSW Million Paws Walk: Coffs Harbour
The Million Paws Walk is guaranteed to be another great day for Coffs Coast animal lovers. Whether you want to show your support for the RSPCA, help your doggy companion make some new pals, or need an excuse to walk for a cause, you are invited to participate in the Coffs Coast’s furriest event of the year. There will be activities and attractions for participants to enjoy and the Walk itself winds four kilometres to the beautiful Coffs Beach Jetty and back. The walk is relatively flat and has an optional beach walk on the return leg. Participants may enter their pet in one of the fantastic novelty competitions, with winners receiving a commemorative ribbon; or choose to throw down a picnic blanket and simply enjoy the surrounds. All proceeds will help assist the local RSPCA in operating the animal shelter, supporting local Inspectors and providing community education regarding animal care and welfare. Coffs Coast Charity Walk
The Coffs Coast Charity Walk - a fundraising event for the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter Service - starts at Boronia Park and proceeds to Bonville Headland, Sawtell and follows the Solitary Islands Walk on Murray’s Beach through to Boambee Headland, Boambee Beach to the Coffs Harbour Jetty a distance of 14km. A 21km half marathon distance is also offered with a 7km track from the Coffs Jetty to Coffs Headland (return). The walks are an all-terrain challenge across sand, bush track and roads and should not be underestimated by any walker. The spectacular scenery creates an awe-inspiring backdrop for the Charity Walk. Participants can walk or run at any pace however it is a non-competitive social event. Participants can enter individually or in teams of 2-20 people. Minimum age is 12 years old (with a paying adult).

South Solitary Island Exclusive Helicopter Tour
*** Latest event details are yet to be confirmed *** Fly by helicopter and land on South Solitary Island which is located 18 kilometres from Coffs Harbour. Rarely does an opportunity like this present itself as it is normally closed to the public. Inspect the lighthouse keepers quarters which were built in 1880 and imagine living in this isolated outpost. The lighthouse and keepers quarters were built in 1880 are the oldest in the area, the lighthouse was automated in 1975 with all residents leaving the island. The only way to access the island is by helicopter and public access is restricted to these open days only. Included in this fantastic offer is an interpretive guided walking tour for one or two hours by National Parks and Wildlife Rangers and return helicopter flights. Be one of the lucky few visitors to have ascended the ancient spiral staircase of the lighthouse to finally step out onto the narrow balcony suspended some 50 metres above the raging ocean below. The public are only allowed access for two weekends per year.

Coffs Harbour Running Festival
The Bendigo Bank Coffs Harbour Running Festival is a community event for people of all ages and abilities and consists of a 21.1 kilometre half marathon, 10 kilometre fun run, five kilometre fun run, and a three kilometre family fun run/walk. Held on a bush trail on the Coffs Creek Walkway, the flat, shady course is ideal for runners. The picturesque track hugs the beautiful Coffs Creek and competitors run over floating boardwalks, through swamp forests of mangrove, casuarina and paperbark trees, from the centre of town to the coast and back. The event raises funds for local children's charities including Life Education Australia, Coffs Coast Autism, Camp Quality, Early Connections Coffs Harbour and St John Ambulance.
