Extracting contemporary gestural motif from Aboriginal archetypes, [Mis]conceive’s hip-hop, physical percussion and rhythmic cultural pattern is expressive and immediate. Through the assertion of a continuous Aboriginal dance canon, the aesthetic rejects, reveals and re-educates modern (mis)-understandings of Indigeneity, [Mis]conceive argues that knowledge does not equal comprehension. Books are not their covers. One size does not fit all. Kelly and his ensemble move with assured physicality in this high-energy work that pulses with humour, play and personal stories. Voice and body become pathways to traditional dance and song, as repetition and disguise make way for moments of discovery. [Mis]conceive brings audiences through the past, to understand the present, and move forward into a better future.

Darkness exists in the underbelly of every community, and in characters they may have met – a darkness that dwells within everyone. Wildskin acknowledges that most people harbour secret longings for the wild; to escape into nature as a way of finding their true selves, to act upon their craziest impulses and secret desires in order to feel truly alive, to break out of the rut of the everyday in search of adventure. To let oneself go wild is to take a journey into the unknown — far away into the world, and deep into the soul. With an all female cast, Wildskin is a celebration of wildness by a bevy of seductively dark clowns through joyous explosions of song and dance — because to be wild at heart is to re-connect to the lost child that was so full of play and wonder. From the makers of NORPA hit shows Railway Wonderland and Dreamland comes this latest work.

Ian Moss: Lismore
Respected as one of Australia’s iconic musicians, Ian Moss delivers an unforgettable sound – not only as a telling soloist on guitar but especially with his silken voice, ringing with clarity and resonating with pure soul. While primarily recognised as an axeman of tenacity and sweet melodic sensibility, Ian’s distinctive vocal is the essential signature of his soulful, bluesy muse – as it has been since his first tentative foray into music during the early 1970s. Born and raised in Alice Springs, Ian started playing guitar in local teenage bands but moved to Adelaide after failing one of his high school years, planning to repeat in the big city. Fate intervened when he answered an advertisement for a guitarist in a shop window in 1973, joining the band that was to become a legend in Australia and that made such an undeniable impact that they are now etched in the Australian music psyche forever. That band was Cold Chisel. Moss has released five incredible and dynamic studio albums – The number one and multi-platinum, Matchbook, Worlds Away, Petrolhead, Let’s all Get Together and Soul on West 53rd.
