An Afternoon At The Proms - Clarence Valley Orchestra and Chorus
Modelled on the famous ‘Last Night at the Proms’ held annually in the Royal Albert Hall UK, the Clarence Valley Orchestra and Chorus, with their Artistic Director and Conductor Greg Butcher, take you on a journey with the music from Elgar to Allen. This year’s concert will showcase internationally acclaimed pianist Mr David Helfgott, of whom Australian actor Geoffrey Rush portrayed in the award winning film 'Shine', celebrating the 21st anniversary of the movie this year. Australian National Goanna Pulling Championships
The offbeat, all Australian sport of Goanna Pulling dates back to the nineteenth century. Contrary to the name, it's a test of strength between two people, whereby contestants get down on all fours and are linked by a leather belt over their heads, enabling them to pull backwards, tug of war style. Enter on the day for your chance to win cash prizes in the Men's and Ladies' Age and Weight Divisions. The Goanna Pulling Championship includes many other events on the day including wood chop, men's, ladies' and children's novelty races, dog obedience trials, tug of war teams, market stalls, and food and drinks. Brooms Head 3Bs Fun Run

One of the very best courses in NSW, run over five and ten kilometres through beautiful coastal scenery over bitumen, bush and beach. Organised by the Maclean Lions Club and with generous support from the Brooms Head Bowling Club, this event is kilometre marked, marshalled and timed. Brooms Head Family Fun Day

There are a multitude of races including sprints, distance, family relay, beach boat races, sandbag races, water carrying tug of war and the only place in Australia where you can compete at tossing a broom head in Brooms Head. December Weekend of Rowing
The Clarence River will come alive with boats, competitors and officials, when the river's two major rowing regattas are held at Memorial Park in Grafton. The Head of the Clarence River Regatta is expected to draw a large number of schools to compete. In the past crews have came from New Zealand, Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Gold Coast and, of course, the competitive Clarence Valley schools. On Sunday, the Grafton Rowing Club's annual regatta will be held, with the majority of teams staying over to compete, plus the addition of the North Coast's many master competitors.

Eat Street Yamba
Eat Street Yamba is an afternoon food market being held 4pm to 8pm in Coldstream Street Yamba. There will be plenty of food stalls including Rotary's barbecue, cold foods, nibbles, ice-creams. sweets, pizza , paella and unique gourmet food products available to purchase. Hot and cold drinks including coffee, beer and wine will also be available for your pleasure. Tables and chairs are provided for you to sit and enjoy. The Yamba Eat Street Markets is an annual market event held from 4pm to 8pm. Walk down the middle of Coldstream Street as it is closed to traffic especially for this community event. What a great holiday atmosphere and a great way to spend the long weekend in October during the twilight evening in the beautiful coastal town of Yamba. Family Fun Day
Fun for young and all will be had at Rotary Club of Yamba's Annual Family Fun Day. Mr Steve Machel has become the resident expert Sandologist for the Family Fun Day sand modelling competition and offers contestants hints and tips before this popular event at Yamba's Main Beach. Come down to Main Beach early and watch his design take shape using nothing more than sand, water, bucket, a butter knife and brush. Teams of four then compete against each other in making their own sand modelling design. Cars, sea creatures, mythical animals, space creatures and the traditional sandcastles are seen each year. They have a junior section (under seven year olds) and a senior section (over seven) with trophies for the winning teams. Only natural items found on the beach can be used in the design and the use of normal beach bucket and spade is allowed to carry water and sand. No house hold garden equipment will be allowed. There is a barbecue sausage sizzle and steak burgers held by Rotary and the beach kiosk is always open. Entry fee is per team with all money going to Yamba Rotary for use on local projects.

Grafton Bridge To Bridge Ski Classic
The Grafton Bridge to Bridge is a 108 kilometre water ski race from Grafton to Harwood Bridge and return, with boats reaching speeds in excess of 120 miles per hour towing two skiers. The event attracts competitors from Australia, New Zealand and the USA, and is considered one of the toughest events on the water ski racing calendar. The 2016 running of the event will be the 43rd Bridge To Bridge Ski Classic and includes live music, food vendors, and attractions for the whole family.

Grafton Farmers Market
The Grafton Farmers Market continues to attract new stallholders while still maintaining its core of regulars. The market is held weekly on a Thursday, in the Christ Church Cathedral Op Shop Car Park on the corner of Duke and Fitzroy Streets. There is street parking available. Grafton Jacaranda Festival
From the last weekend in October to the first weekend of November every year the longest running floral festival in Australia, the Grafton Jacaranda Festival, is held under canopies of purple blossoms. The festival commences regally with the crowning of their Jacaranda Queen and Princesses. Local arts, crafts and sporting groups take the week long opportunity to showcase their work. The city of Grafton comes to a standstill on Jacaranda Thursday with the main street lined with market stalls, rides and entertaining skits performed by local businesses. The mighty Clarence River is a spectacular backdrop for the Riverlight event on Friday evening where spectators line the riverbank to watch local performers before a fantastic finale of fireworks. The festival culminates with a float parade of enormous proportions on Saturday afternoon followed by a sunset family concert on the Riverbank. Sunday morning, for one last chance to tread the Jacaranda blossom carpeted streets, there is a Fun Run which includes a run across the famous bendy bridge.

Grafton July Racing Carnival
The Clarence River Jockey Club, located in the picturesque jacaranda tree lined city of Grafton on the NSW North Coast, is home to the richest non-metropolitan carnival in Australia, the famous Grafton July Racing Carnival. Jacaranda Dragon Boat Races
A spectacle usually seen only in metropolitan areas, the Jacaranda Dragon Boat Races held on the beautiful Clarence River in Grafton is the largest regional dragon boat event in New South Wales. Maclean Highland Gathering
Maclean is known as the 'Scottish Town in Australia' and clans invade the town for the highland gathering from around the country. Piping competitions take place non-stop at different venues, as well as street concerts with dancers, pipers and singers. A parade to the showground of all the participating bands takes place and is followed by traditional Scottish games and dancing - tossing the Caber and hammer throwing, food stalls and Scottish products await the bands and visitors at the Showgrounds before a Grand Scottish Concert at the Civic Hall.

Tim The Bream Yamba Fishing Classic
Yamba's famous annual 'Tim the Bream' national fishing titles will return to Ford Park Yamba NSW and the Clarence River in August with a prize pool of over AUD30,000. The featured prized catch for catching tagged 'Tim The Bream' is worth a whopping AUD20,000 with another 10 tagged fish having a value of AUD1000 each. There will be prizes for the heaviest Yellow Fin Bream, Flathead, Luderick, Jew Fish (or Mulloway), Trevally and Whiting in a catch, weigh and release competition. The main weekend event , held by Yamba Rotary, is at Ford Park Yamba with daily prizes for biggest catch of the day. Bring your Yellow Fin Bream, Flathead, Luderick, Mangrove Jack, Jew Fish, Trevally and Whiting for weigh in. There will also be prizes for the most fish weighed, smallest and strangest fish caught over the weekend.
