Annual Grafton Truck Show
The Grafton Truck Drivers Social Club is a community Social Club for people in the transport industry. They are responsible for the organisation and running of the Annual Grafton Truck Show on the June Long Weekend each year and enjoy meeting people from around the area as well as from other stretches around the country. In their spare time, you'll find them supporting the local community and charity organisations, as well as giving their 'Rigs' a bit of TLC to make sure they look on point when they roll out for the week.

Australian Formula Powerboat Grand Prix The Clash on the Clarence

Australian National Goanna Pulling Championships
The Australian National Goanna Pulling Championships, based in Wooli, has been running annually since 1985. It is seen as the flagship event in the small coastal town of Wooli NSW and attracts upwards of 3000 visitors to the town each October long weekend. It is seen as a fun event, for all ages, with not just Goanna Pulling, but a range of other events such as: Tug-o-war, North Coast Axemen event, Brick Carrying races, Sprint Age Races, Market Stalls, Food and Beverage Stalls, Carnival Rides and Live Music. The Australian National Goanna Pulling Championships is an event targeted at families. The day holds events aimed at all ages and gender. The focus on the day above all else is a sense of family fun supported by the local community.

Brooms Head Family Fun Day
Dust off the excesses of the night before and join in with some family fun at Brooms Head. There are a multitude of races including sprints, distance, family relay, beach boat races, sandbag races, water carrying tug of war and the only place in Australia where you can compete at tossing a broom head in Brooms Head. There are market stalls through the park with food and refreshments available on the day. Gold coin donation is appreciated. This event is run in collaboration with Wires, Gulmarrad Bush Fire Brigade, Lions, and Lower Clarence Rugby League Club.

December Weekend of Rowing
The Clarence River will come alive with boats, competitors and officials, when the river's two major rowing regattas are held at Memorial Park in Grafton. The Head of the Clarence River Regatta is expected to draw a large number of schools to compete. In the past crews have came from New Zealand, Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Gold Coast and, of course, the competitive Clarence Valley schools. On Sunday, the Grafton Rowing Club's annual regatta will be held, with the majority of teams staying over to compete, plus the addition of the North Coast's many master competitors.

Eat Street Yamba
Eat Street Yamba is an afternoon/evening food market being held 4pm to 8pm in Coldstream Street Yamba. Grafton Bridge to Bridge Ski Classic
An extreme adventure sporting event of the highest calibre! A 108 kilometre water ski race from Grafton to Harwood Bridge and return, with boats reaching speeds in excess of 120 kilometres per hour towing two skiers. The event attracts competitors from Australia, New Zealand and the USA, and is considered one of the toughest events on the water ski racing calendar. The 2018 running of the event will be the 45th Bridge To Bridge Ski Classic and includes live music, food vendors, and attractions for the whole family.

Grafton Jacaranda Festival
From the last weekend in October to the first weekend of November every year the longest running floral festival in Australia, the Grafton Jacaranda Festival, is held under canopies of purple blossoms. The festival commences regally with the crowning of their Jacaranda Queen and Princesses. Local arts, crafts and sporting groups take the week long opportunity to showcase their work. The city of Grafton comes to a standstill on Jacaranda Thursday with the main street lined with market stalls, rides and entertaining skits performed by local businesses. The mighty Clarence River is a spectacular backdrop for the Riverlight event on Friday evening where spectators line the riverbank to watch local performers before a fantastic finale of fireworks. The festival culminates with a float parade of enormous proportions on Saturday afternoon followed by a sunset family concert on the Riverbank. Sunday morning, for one last chance to tread the Jacaranda blossom carpeted streets, there is a Fun Run which includes a run across the famous bendy bridge.

Grafton Open Art Exhibition
The Grafton Open Art Exhibition was established in 2013 by members of the Grafton High P and C. The opening night is a free event with live music and nibbles. The purpose of the exhibition is to allow emerging and professional artists in the area to display their work and gain exposure. The exhibition is also for students both primary and secondary, to showcase their works and celebrate their skills. The exhibition is open to all schools in the Clarence Valley, most mediums are excepted with prizes in all categories. Grafton High School is the only school in the Clarence Valley to hold such an event.

Grafton to Inverell Cycle Classic
This one day event, beginning in Grafton passing through Glen Innes and finishing in Inverell, is a 228 kilometre ride over some of the most demanding terrain in worldwide cycling, starting at 25 metres above sea level and climbing to 1060 metres, then finishing in Inverell at 590 metres. The race is six to seven hours long, depending on weather conditions. The Grafton to Inverell Cycle Classic is one of the main events throughout the year in world cycling. Each year at the finish line in Vivian Street, Inverell where various street activities are held. Why not bring the family along and enjoy the carnival atmosphere.

Jacaranda Dragon Boat Races
A spectacle usually seen only in metropolitan areas, the Jacaranda Dragon Boat Races held on the beautiful Clarence River in Grafton is the largest regional dragon boat event in New South Wales. With over 30 teams competing in a variety of categories, this is an event well supported and loved by locals and visitors alike. Held in late October, at the beginning of the famous Jacaranda Festival, the riverbank is dotted with purple and the whole of Grafton is alive with festivities. Loving Life Day
Loving Life Day is an annual community fun day with free stage entertainment, free family activities, market stalls and food vendors, all in the centre of Grafton. On stage: Music by Living Proof, Ian Poolman and the Atoms, Strings ‘n’ Things, Dean Loadsman (didgeridoo). Valley’s Got Talent, a young talent quest for trophies and cash prizes. Giant Auction – bid for a bargain and support 103.1’s School of Community Radio and Media foundation. Award presentations for the scholarship winners following their performances. On the grounds: Magician Troppo Bob - funny and mystifying magic shows. Rock Climbing Wall (eight metres high)professionally supervised by NorthWest Climbing. Maclean Highland Gathering
Grab your kilt and get to Maclean, the 'Scottish Town in Australia'. Walk among the clans that invade the town for the Highland Gathering every Easter from around the country. Piping competitions take place non-stop at different venues, as well as street concerts with dancers, pipers and singers. A parade along the main street of all participating bands takes place on Easter Saturday (8.30am sharp) and is followed by traditional Scottish games and dancing - tossing the Caber and hammer throwing, food stalls and Scottish products await the bands and visitors at the Showgrounds before a Grand Scottish Concert at the Civic Hall.

The Maclean MacMarket is an annual market held on the first Saturday of the year hosted by Lions in the main street of the town. Thousands of people descend to this riverside village for the event. Mission Songs Project is an initiative to revive contemporary Australian Indigenous songs from 1900 to 1999, focusing on the Christian missions, state run settlements and native camps where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people were relocated. Searching for the secular songs that were sung after church, Mission Songs Project looks to explore the day to day life of the mission days, from cultural identity to love and loss. Tim The Bream Yamba Fishing Classic
Yamba's famous annual 'Tim the Bream' national fishing titles will return to Ford Park Yamba NSW and the Clarence River in August with a prize pool of over AUD30,000. The featured prized catch for catching tagged 'Tim The Bream' is worth a whopping AUD20,000 with another 10 tagged fish having a value of AUD1000 each. There will be prizes for the heaviest Yellow Fin Bream, Flathead, Luderick, Jew Fish (or Mulloway), Trevally and Whiting in a catch, weigh and release competition. The main weekend event , held by Yamba Rotary, is at Ford Park Yamba with daily prizes for biggest catch of the day. Bring your Yellow Fin Bream, Flathead, Luderick, Mangrove Jack, Jew Fish, Trevally and Whiting for weigh in. There will also be prizes for the most fish weighed, smallest and strangest fish caught over the weekend.
