David Helfgott – Concert Pianist

David Helfgott is an Australian concert pianist who’s life inspired the Oscar-winning film called Shine.  Today, David continues to tour the globe impressing crowds with his interpretative genius with devotee admirers “regarding his recitals as transcending mere music-making.”

David’s career has included world tours throughout the UK, USA, London, Asia, Africa, Japan, New Zealand and Australia.  Also gracing the global stages of Israel, Turkey and later Denmark. He has released many CD’s including Brave New World,  Brilliantissimo and In Viva.

David and his wife Gillian’s home is in the picturesque region of Glennifer in a valley backing onto the Bellingen hinterland and south west corner of Coffs Harbour.  The property sits closely to George Negas’s house and the crystal clear waters of the Never Never river.  Providing a beautiful backdrop to the tinkering piano sounds of David’s genius musical creations.

 

Russell Crowe – Actor, Musician & Producer

Known as ‘Rusty’ to locals, Russell Crowe is an actor, musician and film producer spending his time between the USA and the Coffs Coast, New South Wales.

Globally, most will know of Russell’s roles in movies such as Gladiator, The Insider, Master and Commander and A Beautiful Mind; locally, he is also known and appreciated as a grounded and down to earth guy with a love for the local community.  His support of Coffs Coast initiatives often going unrecognised due to his anonymous donations and contributions.

Russell’s beautiful property on the outskirts of Coffs Harbour is framed amongst the rolling green hills and countryside vistas of Nana Glen.  Nestled near the dramatic basalt cliffs of the Nymboida River, the secluded property offers stunning landscapes along with much needed privacy.

Earlier in 2014, Russell performed at the Coffs Harbour Jetty Memorial Theatre with Australia’s first Indoor Garden Party (previously only performed in New York and London), drawing an international crowd of performers and audience attendees.
