Norah Head Lighthouse
The headland and lighthouse tower at Norah Head provide superb elevated vantage points to catch a glimpse of the whales as they go by. Tours of the lighthouse tower operate daily between 10am and 1pm and are $10 for adults, $6 for concessions and children.

Wingham Museum (Manning Valley Historical Society)
Home of the Bonnie Scottish Festival. The historic museum opened in 1968 and was once part of Duff’s Store established in the 1870’s. The Museum now houses a fabulous, large collection of photographs and memorabilia that takes you back in time. See the township of Wingham in the 1800’s. Wingham Brush Nature Reserve
Wingham Brush is a beautiful subtropical lowland rainforest located on the edge of the township of Wingham, just 9km from Taree. There are some great photo opportunities including impressive fig tree buttresses, colonies of grey and red headed flying foxes and the elusive land mullet. Don’t miss sunset each day, when thousands of flying foxes fly out in search of food. You can witness this spectacular event from the banks of the Manning River. The Koala Hospital
The Koala Hospital is located in Port Macquarie and is the only dedicated Koala Hospital in the world. It not only treats sick and injured koalas but is also involved in research with the University of Sydney into koala diseases. The Koala Preservation Society of N.S.W. runs the hospital which is situated in the grounds of the Macquarie Nature Reserve, Lord Street. The Hospital is open 365 days a year and visitors are welcome at all times during the day, however a “Feed, Walk and Talk” tour is conducted every afternoon at 3.00 p.m.

Trial Bay Gaol is a solitary picturesque ruin set on a spectacular natural headland at Arakoon, South West Rocks. Angourie National Surfing Reserve
Listed as Australia’s first National Surfing Reserve, the famous Angourie point-breaks sweep onto rocks and can be dangerous for inexperienced board riders. There are many kilometres of open beaches surrounding Angourie which is also renowned for its fresh water Blue & Green Pools, originally a rock quarry that filled with water when a spring was disturbed. The pools are very deep and are a very popular swimming spot. Angourie was the first gazetted National Surfing Reserve in NSW. Go for a walk, swim or surf on one of these beautiful beaches and see for yourself why Angourie is regarded as “the home of soul surfing”. The flat, boulder-strewn headland has been an important meeting place for the Yaegl people for generations who named the place Angourie, which translated to ‘the sound of the wind’.
