Suggested itineraries - Gloucester & Barrington Tops

DAY 1

The morning

Try a delicious hot breakfast at Roadies Cafe on Church Street, you’ll need some energy for a full day of fun.  Then check into Barrington Outdoor Adventure Centre for a half day guided kayaking tour on the pristine Barrington River, your tour includes equipment, transport and an experienced guide to share the river’s secrets with you.

For lunch

Upon returning to town, grab the makings of your own picnic feast to enjoy under the riverside trees at Gloucester District Park.

The afternoon

After lunch, explore the extensive sporting facilities of the park or take a leisurely scenic drive around the Bucketts Mountains, stopping at one of the many beautiful river crossings for a swim or a snooze.

For dinner

For drinks and dinner, try the new Bistro 19 at the Country Club, its golf course has the prettiest setting in the state.

Stay the night

Stay overnight at a variety of unique accommodation options in and outside of town.

DAY 2

The morning

Try a fresh healthy breakfast at Perenti Café on Church Street before heading out to Gloucester Tops where you can get a quick sample of what Barrington Tops National Park is famous for: take an inspiring walk to see Gloucester Falls, the snow gum meadows or the ancient Antarctic beech forest.

For lunch

Upon returning to town for lunch, pick up some hot country treats at Hebby’s Bakery to enjoy in leafy Billabong Park.

The afternoon

The rest of your day can be spent shopping leisurely in the main street, with a range of unique shops for all tastes. And with no chain stores and no traffic lights, you’ll see why we love being in the country!
