Tomaree National Park
At the entrance to beautiful Port Stephens, the park stretches along 20km of windswept coastline. It encompasses rocky shores, white sandy beaches, wetlands, spring-flowering heath, scrublands and coastal forest. Tomaree Head Walk rewards visitors with panoramic views over Port Stephens and takes you to the site of a 1941 World War II gun emplacement. Visit the beautiful 1862 Point Stephens Lighthouse. At present it is not possible to reach the lighthouse via the spit so it’s best to get to the island by boat and walk along the track to the lighthouse.

Worimi National Park (Stockton Sand Dunes)
Incorporating the popular Stockton Beach, the Worimi Conservation Lands are co-managed by the local Worimi Aboriginal community in partnership with NPWS. There are an extraordinary number of cultural sites here that pre-date the arrival of non-Aboriginal people to the area. Stockton Beach is popular for 4WD trips, fishing and picnicking. Dogs on leash are permitted on Stockton Beach. All vehicles must be registered and display a current Worimi Conservation Lands Beach Vehicle Permit. Check website for closures prior to visiting.
