Lismore to Legendary Nimbin – Scenic Drive
Lismore to Internationally famous Nimbin
This 90km full day tour will take you to the world renown village of Nimbin exploring fascinating and funky places of interest. There are so many great things to see and do along this drive that you’ll be spoilt for choices.
From Lismore cross Bridge Street and pop into the Serpentine Gallery, a local artist initiative dedicated to showcasing the diverse artistic creations of local emerging artists. Turn left into Terania Street and then Nimbin Road following the signposts to Nimbin, an easy 30km drive.
Just before you arrive in Nimbin you’ll be greeted by the towering Nimbin Rocks, estimated to be 20 million years old, it is of great significance to the traditional owners from the Bundjalung nation and for this reason access is restricted.
Nimbin is intriguing and quirky with its unique mural streetscape of indigenous, rainforest and psychedelic facades and colourful local characters. Cullen Street has an amazing array of cafes, craft shops, galleries and retail outlets.
Don’t miss the Nimbin Markets at the Nimbin Community Centre held on the 4th & 5th Sundays of the month. They are a treasure trove of arts & crafts, local food & produce, exotic & second-hand items, massages, alternative therapies & live music.
Just five minutes from the town centre is the Nimbin Candle Factory, Djanbung Permaculture Centre and The Rainbow Power Company – definite must see & do activities.
