Coffs Coast – Tourist Drive 19
Coramba, Ulong, Nana Glen, Glenreagh, Nymboida
From Coffs Harbour, head west up and over the escarpment of Coramba Mountain toward the little village by the same name. Have lunch in the Coramba Hotel watching the cows in the paddocks feed leisurely.
A small detour left up Eastern Dorrigo Way will have you driving through wonderful rainforests containing huge cedar trees and fantastic views of the valley below. Visit Ulong including the old Café in the Valley and enjoy the quaint village before returning downhill and turning left onto Orara Way.
This will lead you through green pastures to the village of Nana Glen where you can enjoy tastings at Two Tails Winery or cake and coffee at the Kookaburra Café.
Next, stop at Glenreagh – home of the famous Mountain Railway. Unfortunately it is not currently running but you can still pop down to the station to take a look or enjoy a well-earned drink at the Golden Dog Hotel. For those who love a cooking class, make sure you book into Pig in a Pickle where you can learn how to cure your bacon.
If you have the time, continue through farmland till you meet the main Armidale-Grafton Road and turn left to visit the Nymboida Canoe Centre which offer tubing on its powered waters before continuing onto the Nymboida Coaching Station for a bite to eat. From here, head north toward Grafton.Add to my itinerary
