Taree to Gloucester – Tourist Drive 2
At the southern entrance to Taree, after turning off the Pacific Highway, continue through two roundabouts and follow The Bucketts Way which is named after the prominent mountains behind Gloucester. This road is an alternate route to the Pacific Highway and is about 149kms long. It ends at Raymond Terrace if travelling south via Gloucester and Stroud.
Travelling westwards to Gloucester, about half way between Gloucester and Taree you will find Krambach, a hillside village in a picturesque rural setting offering a variety of country experiences in and around the village. A wonderful attraction of this area is the true country golf course, known affectionately by the locals as Royal Krambach, which is fenced off around the greens from cattle and kangaroos! The 9 hole Krambach Golf Course is available for social play or competition. There is also the Commercial Hotel, with its friendly atmosphere.
As you head along Tourist Drive 2, about 4kms out of Gloucester is Mograni Lookout, views from here afford some stunning photographs out over the region! The drive will take about one hour from Taree to Gloucester. Stay for the day and explore Gloucester’s main street, gallery, museum and architecture. The pretty town offers a variety of interesting options and excellent farmers markets not to be missed on the second Saturday of each month.
Be sure to take a drive to Barrington Tops to see the ancient World Heritage Listed National Park.Add to my itinerary
