Brunswick Heads – Tweed Valley – Tourist Drive 40
Brunswick Heads is an unspoilt coastal village with quiet fishing estuaries and surfing beaches. It features the Brunswick Heads Nature Reserve which offers the magical combination of beach, estuary and coastal rainforest.
To take a drive from Brunswick Heads heading north to discover the Tweed you can commence in the south at the Pacific Highway and Gulgan Road at Brunswick Heads and is 64kms one way. The drive takes in the towns and villages along the route of Chinderah, Stotts Creek, Tumbulgum, Condong, Murwillumbah, Dunbible, Burringbar, Mooball, Crabbes Creek, Yelgun and Chinderah.
Tourist Drive 40 is the former Pacific Highway alignment from Brunswick Heads to Chinderah. It takes in the infamous Burringbar Range – a windy section of road so please drive to the conditions and take your time.
Along the route you can see spectacular views of the majestic Mt Warning, the Tweed River, farmland and sugar cane. There’s also access to World Heritage listed National Parks and state forests.Add to my itinerary
