  • Sandy inlets, secluded bays and protected foreshores feature around the Lake, perfect for swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving and fishing. The lake is famous for sailing, with many national and state sailing titles contested on the water, as well as weekend regattas and twilight races
  • The lake offers 174km of lake foreshore and there is plenty to see and do from the waters edge, with community parks and reserves, bush walking tracks, flora and fauna trails, shared paths, shopping precincts, art galleries and town centres spread around the city’s lake foreshore areas
  • Home of the late Sir William Dobell, Lake Macquarie has a number of quality art and craft galleries which feature a diverse range of exhibitions and art for sale
