The Legendary Pacific Coast lies within the heart of the Mid North Coast region, linking together a maze of sparkling bays and rustic villages. The region, stretching from Port Stephens to Coffs Harbour, boasts an array of hinterland escapes and legendary cultural icons and attractions as well as some 25 National Parks and reserves, each home to a diverse range of Australian native flora and fauna.
Any turn east of the legendary Pacific Highway will reveal stunning beaches, sand dunes and quiet coastal towns, while turning west along this coastal corridor will lead travellers to laid back country towns, nestled amongst valleys and rainforests and home to the region’s legendary waterfalls and wildlife.
Port Stephens, just a short drive north of Newcastle, is home to the legendary bottle nosed dolphins, just waiting to be viewed by visitors in their natural playground – the crystal waters of the Pacific Ocean surrounding Port Stephens.
Get on board one of the legendary cruises and witness playful legendary bottle nosed dolphins frolicking in the marine wonderland and crystal waters of Port Stephens or go four-wheel driving or sandboarding on one of the largest sand dunes in the Southern Hemisphere Stockton Sand Dunes (Worimi Conservation Lands).
Explore the majestic Ellenborough Falls, the second longest single drop waterfall in the Southern Hemisphere. Follow the scenic walk to the bottom of the falls , or up to The Knoll for spectacular views directly across to the falls, perfect to capture that memorable photo.
Watch as these beautiful native animals are nursed back to health and get up close and personal with the cute and cuddly Koalas on a ‘Feed, Walk and Talk tour.
Go for a walk along the legendary V-Wall and witness the hundreds of artworks painted on the rocks spanning 500 metres of the scenic coastline of Nambucca Heads.
Stop in at Australia’s most famous ‘big’ icon – The Big Banana, just north of Coffs Harbour, and take the whole family on the rides and educational tours on offer at this unique tourist attraction.
