Around Hermitage Wine & Food Trail, Pokolbin
Just one hour from the freeway is the Hunter Valley’s Around Hermitage Wine and Food Trail. Twenty owner operators of boutique wineries at the northern end of Pokolbin have banded together to create the Around Hermitage Wine and Food Trail giving travellers easy access and information to the many great sights and tastes of their region. The quiet country roads of this great Australian countryside deliver some excellent wines, great food and wonderful characters. Galleries, gardens, a bakery, horse riding and bicycle hire are available. Come meet the vineyard owners and the winemakers who love to sit back and chat about their wines and stock up. Start your tour at the northern end of Hermitage Road with the backdrop of the Brokenback Ranges. You’ll find, award winning wines, dining options from cafes to fine dining with art gallery, sculpture garden, antiques and great accommodation along the way. We have pet friendly and accessible accommodation available.

Hunter Valley Gardens
A must do whilst you’re in the Hunter is a visit to the Hunter Valley Gardens. The gardens are open 7 days 9 till 5 and the cost for adults is $27. See the website for more details. Hunter Valley Gardens is wheelchair friendly and allows access to all areas. Free loan of wheelchairs are available at Garden Entry, bookings preferable.
The gardens are simply stunning and there is plenty to see and do whilst here outside the gardens too. There are fine places to eat and boutique shops to pick up some local goodies so give yourself several hours or a half day here at least.

Hunter Valley Resort & Matilda Bay Brewhouse
Hunter Valley Resort is not one of those big resorts… more a family owned 35 room, 4 star hotel with great food, with parking and facilities for 4 motorhomes. All just 90 minutes from Sydney with our wine theatre, massage centre, segway and horseriding tours, winery and wine school and the Matilda Bay Brewhouse. Everything is nestled in our own 40-year-old vineyard with a tour of the facilities a must. Adjacent is the Binnorie Cheese Dairy, and close by are the Hunter Gardens, hot air ballooning, also over 120 wineries.

Stay in the Hunter – Bimbadgen – A Day on the Green
Stay in the Hunter for a night or two and attend these fantastic events.
A lush amphitheatre surrounded by vines allows Bimbadgen to entertain up to 8,000 people for several music concerts each year. The hugely successful ‘A Day on the Green’ concert series is a feature of the Estate. Since ‘A Day on the Green’ commenced in November 2002, Bimbadgen has been host to a range of national and internationally acclaimed artists, including John Mellancamp, Alicia Keys, Leonard Cohen, The John Butler Trio, John Fogarty, INXS, Joe Cocker, Simply Red and Jimmy Barnes just to name a few.
