Tomaree National Park

At the entrance to beautiful Port Stephens, the park stretches along 20km of windswept coastline. It encompasses rocky shores, white sandy beaches, wetlands, spring-flowering heath, scrublands and coastal forest. Tomaree Head Walk rewards visitors with panoramic views over Port Stephens and takes you to the site of a 1941 World War II gun emplacement.  Visit the beautiful 1862 Point Stephens Lighthouse.  At present it is not possible to reach the lighthouse via the spit so it’s best to get to the island by boat and walk along the track to the lighthouse.
