Crowdy Bay National Park
Beautiful beaches north and south of Diamond Head. Australian author Kylie Tennant spent time living and writing here and her hut has been restored. At low tide you can explore the coastline. Saltwater National Park
This small coastal reserve east of Taree has been a popular recreational spot for over a century. Before that, it was an Aboriginal seasonal camp for thousands of years. The park conserves rare coastal rainforest and wetlands. It has two swimming beaches and a spectacular headland. Saltwater Point has spectacular views over the beaches and the Pacific Ocean. A great place for a panoramic shot! Walking tracks lead through the reserve and into adjoining Khappinghat Nature Reserve.

Stay in the Manning for the Akoostik Festival
Stay in the Manning Valley in October for the Wingham Akoostik Festival. The festival provides two days of non-stop entertainment at the Wingham Showground. You can stay at the showground or book accommodation close by in motels or B&Bs.
This year the line up includes James Reyne, Grace Night and Rick Price to name a few artists. Stay for the weekend in Wingham and chill out, listen to music, shop at the markets, visit the cafes and shops and experience the festival in this country town nestled on the banks of the Manning River. Tapin Tops National Park
High on the great escarpment, Tapin Tops National Park protects old growth forests and rainforests. Rowleys Lookout (1018 metres, a strenuous 45-minute walk from the car park) offers a sweeping view of Head and Shoulders Cliff. Dingo Tops Forest Park, in the middle of the rainforest, has picnic facilities, forestry machinery relics and two walking trails. There’s another picnic area at Potoroo, and car-based camping at the intersection of Knodingbul Road and Dingo Tops Road (short walk from car park).
